ADHD Coaching

Esther is an accredited coach with the ILM level 5 Coaching and Mentoring qualification and is an active member of the Association for Coaching and the Universal Coaching Alliance. She supervises ADHD Coaches and is working toward accreditation as a coach supervisor. Coaching helps us to set our goals, identify our strengths and challenges, reframe negative thinking and form new, helpful habits. It can help us with confidence, self esteem, RSD, executive function, relationships and inner resources. Many people have benefited from ADHD coaching and gained a more positive perspective in their lives.

Testimonials

I tend to have many thoughts and ideas, which turn into many different goals, often unrelated to one another. Coaching helps me keep track of the main things I want to achieve without denying my creativity. Esther helps me work with my brain rather than against it.

Coaching has allowed me to embrace living in a way that works for me, even if it isn’t always in line with what is presented as ‘the right way’ to do things. Furthermore, Esther’s experience and understanding of ADHD make coaching a comfortable environment.

After a lifetime of negative messages about the difficulties associated with ADHD, the kindness and encouragement to be yourself and know that it is OK to not fit the most perfect standards of everything all of the time, goes a long way. I would really recommend Barrett Coaching and Training! 🙂

I embarked on a coaching journey with Esther during a time of personal and professional stagnation, littered with challenges and uncertainties. At that time, I vividly recall feeling trapped, as if my life were at a standstill, and I lacked the confidence to make any meaningful changes for the better.

Through multiple sessions with Esther, I soon came to a realisation (penny drop moment!) – that I, myself, had been the cause of my limitations. I had unknowingly created barriers that hindered my progress, and I knew that it was up to me to overcome these obstacles and take a course toward career growth and personal development.

Esther’s coaching approach was characterised by her unwavering calmness and patience. She skilfully posed pertinent questions that provoked deep introspection, encouraging me to examine and reshape my behaviours. The transformative impact of Esther’s work is incredible, and I am thrilled to report that I have since embarked on a different career path, one where my confidence is blossoming with every step I take.

Esther’s guidance has been instrumental in my journey, and I am so grateful for the positive changes she has helped me to bring into my life.

I’m so glad Esther has come into my life..! After a diagnosis of ADHD at the age of 43 I was feeling quite overwhelmed. Immediately, in the very first session, Esther worked out what was going on in my head and reframed my approach on daily issues; it’s genuinely been life-changing. RSD in particular is an aspect of ADHD I struggle with; we have broken it down into something that doesn’t have as much power over me, which feels massive.

Session by session we went through various processes, resulting in me genuinely feeling like I have a whole new positive approach to life, and a belief that I can achieve. If you are considering having ADHD coaching I can’t recommend Esther enough; she is friendly, approachable, non-judgmental, empathetic, professional – basically a very lovely lady who understands that the struggle is real.

Since starting my job I have had the opportunity to have a coach and it has been an amazing experience. Esther really helped me to focus on my behaviours and personal strengths to evaluate where to work on developing myself. She then helped me make decisions on how best to work on the changes I wanted to make.

To be able to have those conversations about work without feeling my performance was being judged or that my struggles were not valid was liberating. It transformed my mindset, as it then became an exercise in building on my strengths to get ‘even better’ rather than previously where I’d try to make improvements to compensate for my perceived weaknesses. I would encourage anyone to give it a try.
