Here are some of my favourite ADHD Coaching questions. Of course there are a thousand questions we can ask, and they lead to more questions…
- If you could wave a magic wand, what would change?
- What advice would you give to a friend?
- How can your strengths / values help you?
- What has / has not worked for you in the past?
- What is the smallest first step you could take?
- What story are you telling yourself?
- How does that belief serve you?
- What support / resources do you need?
- What shifted for you in the session today?
- How will you celebrate your achievement?
Bonus question 1: if your client is telling a long story you can bring them back by asking – how does that relate to your goal / purpose?
Bonus question 2: if you are not sure where the conversation is going – notice words or phrases they are using and ask them to tell you more. For example – ‘I notice you uses the word should a few times – tell me more about that?’
